  • Book Now

The Zanzibar Serena Inn, member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World and is a member of the Flying Blue programme, idyllically situated on the sea front of ancient Stone Town, washed by the aquamarine waters of the Zanzibar channel, redolent of the scent of cloves and flanked by an exotic melange of sultan's palaces, Portuguese forts, ancient dhow harbours, dark slave markets, and bright bazaars, the Zanzibar Serena Inn is a haven of tranquillity and opulence amongst the bustle of Zanzibar.

Faithfully restored and lavishly embellished with a jackdaw collection of antique clocks, crystal chandeliers, fretwork screens, carved staircases, Persian rugs and brass-studded doors, the interior design concept is a fusion of authenticity and opulence that reflects the very essence of Zanzibar. With its 51 bedrooms and a lovely private swimming pool overlooking the ocean, the hotel is elegance itself as well as romantic and it offers the best in island hospitality.

All the bedrooms overlook the azure waters of the Indian Ocean and the lazy dhows that plough beneath the restaurant's windows. The interiors echo Zanzibar's rich Arab influence - intricately carved doors and furniture coupled with colourful mosaic flooring. The local specialities are freshly caught seafood with spices. A ream of chefs prepare sumptuous meals daily that guests enjoy in the seafront restaurant.

The most spectacular of excursions is to the Serena owned Mangapwani where guests can experience a succession of dazzlingly while hidden and secluded beaches, spice gardens, private watersports and the most sumptuous dining in simple elegance.
